Environ la moiti\u00e9 des 100 nouvelles ITS identifi\u00e9es sont signal\u00e9es chez les adolescents et les jeunes de moins de 24 ans. Les ITS peuvent \u00eatre tr\u00e8s dangereuses et nuire \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 des jeunes. Malheureusement, les cons\u00e9quences graves peuvent impliquer la sant\u00e9 reproductive, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire l\u2019infertilit\u00e9 tubaire, les grossesses troubl\u00e9es, etc. chez les femmes et le sida chez les hommes. Les facteurs comportementaux \u00e0 l\u2019origine des ITS sont les comportements sexuels dangereux, les comportements en mati\u00e8re de soins de sant\u00e9 et l\u2019abus de drogues. Des facteurs psychologiques tels que l\u2019estime de soi affectent \u00e9galement le diagnostic et le traitement des ITS chez les jeunes.<\/p> <figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hhp-blog.s3.amazonaws.com\/2019\/11\/GettyImages-1133972864.jpg\" alt=\"Sexually Transmitted Infections in Young People\"\/><\/figure> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types courants d\u2019ITS<\/h2> <p>Certains des types courants d\u2019ITS que vous devriez conna\u00eetre sont les suivants:<\/p> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>HIV:&nbsp;<\/strong>Human Immunodeficiency Virus, or AIDS-causing agent, destroys the body\u2019s immunity on having unprotected sex with an infected person, or using contaminated needles, or blood transfusion.<\/li><li><strong>HPV:&nbsp; Human Papilloma Virus<\/strong>&nbsp;is a common STI and seen as genital warts. HPV infection increases risk of cervical cancer in women. Pap tests can detect an HPV infection.<\/li><li><strong>Chlamydia:&nbsp;<\/strong>Chlamydial infections are characterized by abnormal genital or rectal discharge, burning sensation during urination, and rectal bleeding. In women, it can cause low belly ache and may lead to another disorder called pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). In men, we find urinary problems.<\/li><li><strong>Gonorrhoea:&nbsp;<\/strong>It causes painful urination or bowel movements, and may even lead to PID, ectopic pregnancy, and infertility in women.<\/li><li><strong>PID:&nbsp;<\/strong>This STI occurs in reproductive organs due to chlamydia or gonorrhoea. It causes infection of reproductive organs, thus leading to female infertility.<\/li><li><strong>Genital herpes:&nbsp;<\/strong>This STI is caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV) and manifests itself as a burning sensation which develops into painful sores in the vaginal or rectal area. Treatment is possible but relapses are common.<\/li><li><strong>Syphilis:&nbsp;<\/strong>Syphilis is a painless open sore or a rash around sexual organs in men and women. Untreated syphilis may lead to heart and nervous system disorders over time.<\/li><\/ul> <p>Les autres ITS comprennent la vaginose bact\u00e9rienne, le chancre, les infections \u00e0 cytom\u00e9galovirus, la donovanose), les poux du pubis, la trichomonase, la gale, etc.<\/p> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Protection contre les ITS<\/h2> <p>Il y a plusieurs mesures de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e0 suivre pour s\u2019assurer qu\u2019ils sont prot\u00e9g\u00e9s contre les ITS :<\/p> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Stay mutually monogamous with an uninfected partner<\/li><li>Use a male latex or female polyurethane condom, even for oral sex.<\/li><li>Reduce chances of getting HIV infections with preventive steps:<ul><li><strong>PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis).<\/strong>&nbsp;Take HIV preventive medication within 72 hours of sexual contact.<\/li><li><strong>PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis).&nbsp;<\/strong>Follow strict medication regularly to prevent any HIV infection from sexual contact in future.<\/li><li>Have regular medical examination for HIV and STIs.<\/li><li>Avoid sexual contact with somebody who is HIV-positive, and make sure that the other person is taking their HIV medicines.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be aware of the symptoms of STIs and seek immediate medical help if any symptoms occur.<\/li><li>Avoid douche as it reduces the pH of vaginal area making you more prone to infection.<\/li><\/ul> <p>Le d\u00e9pistage des ITS est tr\u00e8s important chez les jeunes sexuellement actifs. De nombreuses ITS peuvent \u00eatre gu\u00e9ries avec succ\u00e8s avec des antibiotiques. Certaines ITS, comme l\u2019herp\u00e8s, ne peuvent pas \u00eatre gu\u00e9ries compl\u00e8tement et peuvent se reproduire, ce qui est \u00e9vitable.
