Teff is the latest &#8220;superfood&#8221; to hit American food shelves and thanks to its nutrition profile, it has caught the attention of one health-conscious group in particular: runners.<\/p> <figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/images-prod.healthline.com\/hlcmsresource\/images\/AN_images\/amaranth-on-spoon-1296x728.jpg?w=1155&amp;h=1528\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure> <p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-2\">Im Gegensatz zu dem, was die Amerikaner vielleicht denken, ist Teff nicht neu. An ancient East African cereal grass, teff has been a staple of Ethiopian cuisine for thousands of years. With all of the running prowess coming out of Ethiopia, we couldn&#8217;t help but explore the magic of this tiny grain.&#8221;<\/p> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-8\">Winziges Getreide, gro\u00dfe Nahrung<\/h2> <figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.treehugger.com\/thmb\/E2Qo8q3_f9HO-pcRWVxzMf-v4gU=\/768x0\/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():format(webp)\/__opt__aboutcom__coeus__resources__content_migration__mnn__images__2017__06__teff-105408052bc242409f8c50b776ff6bad.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>It doesn&#8217;t look like much, but each grain in this bowl is packed with nutrition.\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure> <p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-9\">Was macht Teff zu einem solchen Ern\u00e4hrungskraftwerk? Dieses mohnartige Getreide ist reich an Protein, Ballaststoffen, Kalzium, Magnesium, Eisen, Zink und Vitamin B6. Es enth\u00e4lt einen hohen Gehalt an Lysin, der Aminos\u00e4ure, die unser K\u00f6rper zum Aufbau und Erhalt von Muskelgewebe verwendet. Es ist glutenfrei und leicht verdaulich, also ist es gut f\u00fcr Menschen mit Z\u00f6liakie oder anderen Verdauungsst\u00f6rungen. Und es hat einen niedrigen glyk\u00e4mischen Index, so dass es eine gute Wahl f\u00fcr Diabetiker oder andere ist, die ihren Blutzuckerspiegel genau regulieren m\u00fcssen.<\/p> <p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-11\">Also, ja, Teff hat viel zu bieten, und es schadet nicht, dass es gut schmeckt und in einer Vielzahl von s\u00fc\u00dfen und herzhaften Gerichten verwendet werden kann.<\/p> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-13\">Treffer und Fehlsch\u00fcsse<\/h2> <p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-14\">Ich hatte in meinem Laufpublikum viel \u00fcber Teff geh\u00f6rt und beschloss, es auszuprobieren. Ich machte Teff Porridge, Teff Pfannkuchen und Teff ErdnussbutterKekse und bekam gemischte Kritiken von meiner Familie. Meine \u00e4lteste Tochter und ich liebten beide den Teffbrei. Sein einzigartiger, s\u00fc\u00dfer und nussiger Geschmack brach die Monotonie meiner \u00fcblichen morgendlichen Haferflocken auf. Meine j\u00fcngste Tochter war von den Teffpfannkuchen nicht beeindruckt und hielt sie f\u00fcr einen schlechten Ersatz f\u00fcr die flauschige wei\u00dfe Sorte. Aber sie liebte die Teff-Kekse (die nichts anderes sind als Teff, Erdnussbutter, Ahornsirup und Kokosnuss\u00f6l), also ist das ein gro\u00dfer Gewinn. Meinen Pre-Teen dazu zu bringen, einen Mit Protein, Kalzium, Vitaminen und Eisen beladenen Keks zu essen und es als Dessert zu betrachten? Ich werde auf jeden Fall mehr daraus machen.<\/p> <p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-16\">Aber die gro\u00dfe Frage ist, hat mich all dieser Teff zu einem besseren L\u00e4ufer gemacht? Ich esse seit etwa zwei Wochen halbwegs regelm\u00e4\u00dfig Teff, und ich werde sagen, dass ich mich beim Laufen etwas st\u00e4rker f\u00fchle. Vielleicht ist es psychologisch, oder vielleicht ist es das Eisen &#8211; ein N\u00e4hrstoff, von dem ich nicht oft genug bekomme. Teff l\u00e4sst mich auch l\u00e4nger satt f\u00fchlen als meine traditionelle Sch\u00fcssel Haferflocken.<\/p> <p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-18\">Hat mich teff auf magische Weise in den n\u00e4chsten Shalane Flanagan verwandelt? Nein. Aber es gab meiner Ern\u00e4hrung einen Ern\u00e4hrungsschub und stellte mir einige gro\u00dfartige neue Rezepte vor.<\/p> <p id=\"mntl-sc-block_1-0-20\">Kann bitte jemand die (teff) Cookies
